About John Raymen Porter, Jr....

John has worked with clients since 1978 to help them define, monitor and achieve their goals. He has worked in all departments within an organization, headed public and private companies, authored numerous articles, sketches and plays. He is currently working on a business book with the working title, “The Orange Juice Test.”

Like a gospel preacher in the revival tent, John gathers up the audience with his enthusiasm and never lets their attention wander, imparting valuable knowledge and essential skills with a deft blend of humor and true stories of success and failure that resonate long after the presentation is concluded.

Following four years as a Navy Corpsman and then graduating from Illinois State University with a BS degree in Education John taught high school social sciences and was an athletic trainer. While a teacher, and pursuing graduate studies in Learning Disabilities, he began publishing articles, public speaking and developing his approach to relevant bridges as an integral tool for success.

John feels one of his strengths come from the number of jobs he has had to support himself and his family while in college, teaching school and when starting companies later in life. Laborer, Ironworker, Electrician, Bartender, Waiter, Salesperson (for appliances, building materials, insurance, vacuums and sewing machines), Pizza delivery person, Janitor, Draftsman, Lifeguard, Swimming, Tennis and Snow Skiing Instructor.

John's fees depend on the type of presentation and the topic to be addressed. His sensitivity to budget issues and willingness to participate in several roles, energizes presentations - John loves to connect with people and their interests. He has recently emceed a "Roast & Toast", a Royalty Pageant, a political fundraiser and a variety show. In addition he has served as a deejay for a social mixer, critiqued an acting competition and judged a costume contest. John's experience writing for, producing, directing and performing in Dinner Theatre, stage plays, a weekly radio show and hosting a morning drive time interview show provide a lot of material to energize an event. John loves to connect with an audience and their interests. He learned a long time ago that his success is measured by his client's success.
